My Super Power Antioxidant Detoxing Green Smoothie

My Super Power Antioxidant Detoxing Green Smoothie

This will make approx. 800ml to 1000ml of smoothie depending on how much water you want to add to it.

Any green leaves can be used except carrot and potato leaves.

I use radish leaves, turnip leaves, kale, beetroot leaves, bok choy, parsley, coriander, mint, oregano , thyme, fennel, celery leaves and stalks, spinach, broccoli, Cos, butter and frilly lettuce, Chinese cabbage, mustard greens, milk thistle, dandelion. I will put whatever green vegetable leaves I have in my vegetable garden into my smoothie.

Start off slowly and once you are making them on a regular basis, then you can add a ton more leaves. I fill my whole blender with leaves, push them down and then add water and rest of the ingredients. Raw green vegetables do not have much of a taste so the flavour will remain very neutral.

I always put my apple delight into it. The cooked apple is a great gut healer and with all the spices in it, it turns the smoothie into a gorgeous, fragrant delight.

Lemon (a whole lemon off a tree in your garden or a friends that has not been sprayed it ideal. Then use the whole lemon including the skin). The lemon skin is highly medicinal.

Ginger – a must!

For extra  potency, buy a good herbal tea (liver detox or organic green tea)  – make approx. 500ml of tea. Leave overnight with the leaves in it and chill. Then add to the smoothie.

Avocado – a must!

Vitamin A and K require a fat to be absorbed.
You can add extra’s like coconut milk or other plant based milks but if you want to lose weight, omit these but not the avo.

Constipation – if you have a problem with bowel movements, add a medium size raw beetroot to your smoothie and blend.
Beetroot is an excellent laxative.
